One True Friend

When God takes away your "obvious" joys: Like a relationship, that "dream" job, the beautiful car, the bigger house, your size 3 jeans, your hairline, vacations in "paradise" or maybe even your precious standing on the "social ladder"...Perhaps what He/She is desperately trying to get you to take more appreciation in (so that you will find your "lost" joy once again) are far more simple things, such as: your health, your eyesight, your hearing, the roof over your head, a pet, music, poetry, colors, clean water to drink, heat when its cold, shade in the heat, a nutritious meal to fill hunger, an aging, sickly parent, your sons or daughters or even if it is just that one true Friend who will always take the time to listen....
