“Dolphins”

Trying to find your way

In a World

That enforces a particular way,

If you’re the least bit an individual

Makes you feel strangled,

Opening and shutting

Like the gills of a fish-

Similar to a human heart

Which must open and close

In order to Live-

That is the nature of life

It is as eccentric as the table of elements

Notorious,

For their ability to evolve

In the grip of another-

Perhaps that is when we are most alive

When our particular chemistry

Intermingles with another.

Some will continue to say:

“We are all just fish being caught in a trolling net”

However,

I’ve been witness,

That some of us,

Slip through

The tiny rips,

 In mankind’s web,

And,

We escape,

In the orange shadows of the sunset,

Of the mysterious Ocean-

There in that wild abandon,

Where safety is left

To the caution of the wind,

You might find that elusive freedom

That seems to be shrinking

In this rapidly changing world

We find ourselves

Living in.
